When you put together a new TV setup in the Netherlands, three names come up quickly: Videoland, Viaplay and IPTV. They're often mentioned in one breath, but each does something different. Once you know the difference, you won't pay twice or miss anything.
This article explains what you get with each service, gives you four questions to pick the right combination, and shows you how to put everything side by side on one TV.

What is what?
Videoland
Videoland is RTL's streaming service in the Netherlands. You watch Dutch series, films and shows from RTL and its own productions, in the official Videoland app. Handy if you mainly follow Dutch content.
Viaplay
Viaplay is a Scandinavian streaming service that is also available in the Netherlands, with series, films and sport. What exactly is included changes by country and season, so always check the current offer before you subscribe.
IPTV
IPTV is television over the internet. You get live channels with a TV guide, live sport, catch-up and, with most providers, a large on-demand library. At Devora TV that's more than 50,000 live channels and 200,000+ films and series, in one package.
Four questions to choose your combination
1. Do you mostly watch live or on demand?
If the TV is on in the evening for the news, talk shows and live sport, IPTV is your base. If you watch almost only series at your own pace, a streaming service may be enough.
2. Which sports do you follow?
Sports rights move between channels and services regularly. Write down the competitions you follow and check during a free trial that you can watch them. IPTV gives you the live sports channels with a TV guide.
3. How important are Dutch original productions?
If you like RTL's and Videoland's own series, keep Videoland next to IPTV. If you mainly want a broad mix of films and series, a large IPTV library already covers a lot.
4. How much do you want to spend each month?
Add up what you pay now for TV, sport and streaming. Compare that with one IPTV subscription plus at most one streaming service you really use. For many households that's the best-value combination.

Three combinations we often see
- IPTV only: live TV, sport and the library of 200,000+ titles. For people who want it simple and affordable.
- IPTV + Videoland: all of the above plus Videoland's Dutch originals.
- IPTV + Videoland + Netflix or Viaplay: for households with lots of different viewers and tastes.
Everything on one TV
On a Fire TV Stick 4K, Google TV or Android TV, put everything side by side:
- Install the official Videoland, Viaplay and, if you like, Netflix apps, and sign in with your own accounts.
- Install an IPTV player such as TiviMate or IPTV Smarters and enter your Devora TV details (Xtream Codes or M3U from your welcome email).
- Move the apps you use most to the front of the home screen.

Common questions
Is Videoland or Viaplay part of an IPTV subscription?
You always watch Videoland and Viaplay through their own official app and account. Put those apps on the same device as your IPTV app so you can switch quickly.
Does this work on a Samsung or LG Smart TV?
Yes. Most Smart TVs have the Videoland app, and for IPTV you use IBO Player or Smart IPTV.
Can I watch on several TVs with one subscription?
That depends on your plan. Ask us during your free trial and we'll work out what suits your household best.
