Comparison of Set IPTV, Net IPTV and Flix IPTV

Set IPTV, Net IPTV and Flix IPTV are three of the most-used IPTV players on Samsung and LG smart TVs. They're set up the same way: the app shows your TV's MAC address and you upload your playlist on its website. So the real question isn't how to install them. It's which one suits your TV and the way you watch.

Our support team helps people with all three every day. Below you'll find an honest comparison, a quick decision guide, and fixes for the problems we see most. Tip: all three offer a free trial, so you can test before you pay for an activation.

The short answer

  • Mainly live TV and an older TV? Choose Net IPTV or Set IPTV. They're light and fast.
  • Lots of films and series? Choose Flix IPTV. Its interface is built around on-demand content.
  • Unsure? Start the free trial of Flix IPTV. If it feels slow on your TV, switch to Net IPTV.

Compared point by point

Interface and ease of use

  • Set IPTV: classic and functional. A plain channel list without frills, so easy to learn.
  • Net IPTV: simple and tidy, with clear channel groups. Very little to get lost in.
  • Flix IPTV: the most modern of the three, with posters, rows and separate sections for films and series. Feels more like a streaming app.

Films and series

  • Set IPTV and Net IPTV focus mainly on live TV. On-demand content is available when your playlist includes it, but it's presented more simply.
  • Flix IPTV is the clear winner here, with a visual library that makes browsing films and series pleasant.

Speed on older TVs

  • Net IPTV and Set IPTV are the lightest and usually run best on older or budget TVs with little memory.
  • Flix IPTV looks nicer but asks a bit more of the TV. On very old models it can feel slower.

TV guide (EPG)

All three can show a TV guide. How well it works mainly depends on your playlist and EPG link. With a provider that supplies a complete EPG, you'll get a working guide in all three. With Xtream Codes on the website (where offered), the guide usually comes along automatically.

Trial and activation

All three offer a free trial period and then ask for a small one-time activation per TV, paid to their own developer. Prices and conditions change, so check the app or its official website. This is always separate from your IPTV subscription.

Decision guide by situation

  • "My TV is 6+ years old." Net IPTV. It's the lightest.
  • "We watch mainly sport and news." Set IPTV or Net IPTV. Fast zapping matters more than posters.
  • "My family mostly watches films and series." Flix IPTV.
  • "None of them is in my TV's store." IBO Player, or an inexpensive Android TV stick with TiviMate or IPTV Smarters.
  • "I want the best possible picture and speed." A dedicated streaming stick often beats any app on the TV's own hardware.

Switching between apps without losing anything

Your subscription isn't tied to the app. If you want to try another player:

  1. Install the new app and note its MAC address. It can differ per app on the same TV.
  2. Upload the same playlist on the new app's website.
  3. Restart the new app.

Your subscription stays exactly the same. Just remember that running two apps at the same time on different devices counts as two connections.

Fixes for the most common problems

"No playlist" after uploading

  • Check that you used the MAC address shown in this app. It can differ between apps.
  • Restart the app. All three only load the playlist at start-up.

Playlist error or empty list

  • Copy the M3U link again in full. Links often get cut off when copied from WhatsApp or email.
  • Check that your subscription is active.

Buffering

  • Connect the TV with a network cable, or use 5 GHz Wi-Fi.
  • Close other streaming on the same network.
  • If it only happens during busy match evenings, ask your provider for a less busy server.

Guide missing or an hour off

  • Add the EPG link on the website if the app supports it.
  • Set the TV's clock to automatic and check the time zone.

Activation message again after a TV reset

A factory reset can give the TV a new MAC address. Upload your playlist again under the new address and contact the developer about the activation.

Frequently asked questions

Can I use the same subscription in all three apps?

Yes. The subscription belongs to your provider, not to the app. Just keep an eye on the number of simultaneous connections.

Which app has the best picture quality?

Picture quality comes from the stream and your connection, not from the app. The difference between these players is in interface and speed, not in image quality.

Is one of them "safer" than the others?

All three are established apps. The biggest risk is copycat websites. Always use the web address shown inside the app itself.
